COMFY IKEA TRAIN MAKES ME WANT TO MOVE TO THE SUBWAY [50]
IKEA has outfitted a train in Kobe with sofas and curtains--probably with names like
Oompa-loompa, Svenssonjohansensson, Frida, and Bucarest. Unfortunately, the makeover is
temporary, to mark the opening of a new shop in the city. Good, because otherwise I would
move to live in there. I will miss my stair bookcase [51], yes, but I would make as many
one-serving friends per hour as the number of pictures in the gallery after the jump.

I've been in New York too long.
First thought: Wow this looks so incredibly cool.
Second thought: Damn I would be pissed if I had to deal with this crap on my commute in
the morning. Less space for standing, less space for sitting. Cushions forcing me to slide
into that guy next to me eating a bagel with cream cheese. Is that a milk stain? God, I
hope it's a milk stain.
Third thought: I hate everyone.

They need something like this for IKEA that's opening in Red Hook, because there is
literally no way to get to Red Hook. None. It's a pocket universe of urban decay, shut off
from the outside world by a howling maelstrom of suffering.

It's only the cheap IKEA stuff that falls apart. The more expensive stuff holds up as
well as any other furniture. But I have to agree with whoever it was that said they think
of it "like a laptop" and would want to change it after awhile. I don't want to end up
like my grandmother with a house that looks like it was last decorated in 1950.
